I AM AN ATHLETE

How do I qualify to play collegiate sports?

For all college-bound students, the process of choosing and applying to colleges has many steps.  The first step is getting clear about what level of play to aspire to, identifying potential colleges and universities and what collegiate athletic association is affiliated with those institutions, NCAA or NAIA.

What is NCAA?

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulates student athletes from over 1200 member institutions and conferences.

The NCAA Eligibility Center certifies whether prospective college athletes are eligible to play sports at NCAA Division I or II institutions. It does this by reviewing the student-athlete's academic record, SAT® or ACT scores, and amateur status to ensure conformity with NCAA rules.

What is NAIA?

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is a smaller association than the NCAA with 249 member colleges and universities.  It includes two divisions (Division 1 and 2) and Division 1 in the NAIA is comparable to Division 2 in the NCAA.
